We offer professional counseling in the areas described below. Our center hosts online therapeutic sessions as an accommodation for clients who are unable to visit with us in-person.
We provide services to individuals who are Spanish-speaking.
Counseling comes in multiple ways depending on the nature of the problem it is concerned with. Individual counseling is counseling focused on the individual's immediate or near future concerns. Individual counseling may encompass career counseling and planning, grief after a loved one dies or dealing with problems at a job before they become big. Individual counseling is a one-on-one discussion between the counselor and the client, who is the person seeking treatment. The two form an alliance, relationship or bond that enables trust and personal growth.
This type of counseling attempts to improve romantic relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts. The duty and function of a relationship counselor or couples therapist is to listen, respect, understand and facilitate better functioning between those involved. We use the Biblical principle of marriage and follow its parameters as our ultimate goal. Certified SYMBIS Facilitators
Family counseling is counseling focused on family dynamics, immediate concerns, and the near future. Family counseling, which brings together the members of a family as a group, is similar to group counseling. An issue that affects a family, like disease, death or simply people not getting along, may all warrant family counseling.
Temperament therapy is based on a profound understanding of the nature of human beings formed by God. In simple terms, we can say that there are three layers to each human being: temperament, character, and personality.
Temperament Counseling (using the Cognitive Concept) The temperament is to the mind what a CAT scan or x-ray is to the body. It allows the counselor to see beyond the problems that are hurting or destroying your marriage, family or career, and addresses the cause. To do otherwise lengthens the healing process by years.
Created by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrot, SYMBIS is an online tool that allows engaged or newly married couples (or even couples who have been married for a while!) take an assessment. The assessment has many questions about
personality, upbringing, attitudes towards money, sex, and much, much more. These question then produce a report about your individual tendencies and compares them to your future or current partner. As SYMBUS Facilitators we receive the results and together we talk about areas of individual growth or improvement that each person needs to work on. We also discuss what they need to work in within the confines of the relationship.
Why is SYMBIS important?
Premarital Counseling with couples and Newlyweds is so beneficial because it helps pinpoint the areas that both
parties need to address and with the help of a counselor, work on. We here at Restored Counseling appreciate that
SYMBIS covers so many diverse topics. In a world where the divorce rate is over 50% (and 67% for second marriages), I believe it’s extremely important to invest in your marriage before it starts. SYMBIS is also very beneficial for second marriages and has an additional assessment built-in if this happens to be your situation.
The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
